Experts say that the earlier in the day a person is exposed to sunlight, the less is his body mass index (BMI).
If a person wants to keep his weak figure, it is enough to wake up early in the morning and take advantage of the effect of morning light, according to a study.
Scientists study covered the 54 volunteers. The results showed that those who are the weakest pieces, doing more exercise and consume more food than the other participants, but sets out longer in the morning light.
The earlier in the day a person is exposed to sunlight, the less is his body mass index (BMI), said co-author of the study, experts in neurology Katherine Reed from medical school at Northwestern University Feinberg in Chicago.
Participants had a mean age of 30 years. They wore apparatus of the wrist, who measured the light exposure and sleep cycles. Participants also gave information about the food they consume during the 7-days study.
It was found that exposure to morning light affects the body mass index of participants – regardless of the level of physical activity, caloric intake them, their time sleeping and age.
The results show that there is morning light 20 percent effect on their body mass index.
Light is the most important factor in the regulation of circadian rhythm, which in turn regulates energy balance, said Filiz Zee team.
The conclusions are that would be a good person to be exposed to more sunlight between 8 am and noon, advising specialist. The results were published in the edition PlosOne.
